The last 2 years UK had basically a decent but not great team. The lost aprxx 12 games and won aprx 22 games the last 2 years. This caused the fans accross the state of Ky to get greatly upset. Tubby Smith got an offer at Minnessotta and he took it. UK gets Billy Gillespi, a decent coach that has done well with his last two teams. The only really good players UK lost from last year were Randolph Morris and Bobby Perry. They gain the best Freshman in the SEC Patterson. He becomes a 17 PPG 9 Rebounds a game player. They still have Crawford, Bradley and and a few other decent players such as Stephenson and other Freshmen. They have a record of 6-7. How is this possible? I blame the coach. I say this not because he is a bad coach but because he does not have control of his team. You don't bench your two top Senior players because you have dissagreements with them and expect to win. Yeah I hear Crawford and Bradley have been misbehaving but why is that? The coach is to blame.

HEre you go. Kentucky doesnt have a true center yes they have J. Carter but he is a great Tubby Smith recruit(garbage).
They have had numerous injuries as you had stated. Tubby knew what he was doing when he went to Minn. He left this team with nothing. Crawford needs to spend more time at practice then Chic Fil A. Bradley needs to add a little bit of weight and try to learn how to be a team player. Tubby never recruited a star player he always wanted the project player that would stay for 4 years. Well the projects never amounted to anything. You can not blame this on Coach G. You cant coach the un coachable. Poor Patrick Patterson when he is tripled teamed you would think someone could score but they cant. Plus Patterson is 6 foot 9 going againdt guys that are 7 foot he is a forward not a center. Well, you can't complain about the coach not controlling the team and then complain about him benching players for not doing what he asks. I think they let a better coach go than what they have now for one thing, and the players just are not that good right now. Give the new coach a chance though. Let him get his own recruits.
